Liam Howlett

Hello Fanboys, we’ve got a pretty neat update today.

Came across this great mix by Liam on Sunset 102 FM Radio from 1991!

I tried to find some more information behind this, however didn’t find anything. If you know anything, please let us know in the comments. However found out that Sunset 102 FM was a Manchester dance station. Seems like it was a station the lasted from 1989 to 1993.. read more about the station here.

The mix by Liam is awesome, enjoy guys!

The Prodigy Present: The Dirtchamber Sessions Volume One

The Prodigy Present: The Dirtchamber Sessions Volume One

So, most of you know about ‘The Dirtchamber Sessions Volume One’ mix by Liam right?

Well, that was a result of a 1998 guest DJ appearance by Liam on Mary Anne Hobbs Breezeblock show on Radio 1.

However, the Radio 1 edit & the Dirtchamber edit are different. A few tunes did not make the cut due to permission to use. You can read more about that here.

We’ve got a link where you can listen to the original Radio 1 edit. It also includes a little interview at the beginning.

Enjoy.

Thanks to Twitter user @execaballero for the heads-up.

Topics covered: Download Festival & new tracks being played. The location & date of Warriors Dance Festival which we reported earlier. New record to be out between Warriors Dance Festival & end of the year. This is a relief, no dubstep! Also, album title and so on.

It’s a great quick interview guys, listen to it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SG9alM9Mng8

K. Flay collaboration with Liam Howlett

K. Flay

K. Flay

Genre-defying rapper/singer/songwriter K. Flay has released the first song off her forthcoming release, Eyes Shut. Just in time for the holidays, her track “We Hate Everyone” captures the other side of the holiday spectrum: the unspoken dark side of December. Oh yeah! We are so sick of carols and sleigh bells and holiday cheer. Bring on the “Hate!” We are “Bah Humbugers” like Flay.

The anti-Christmas carol is available for your listening enjoyment by going here.

K. Flay’s new self-produced release (along with some collaboration with Liam Howlett of The Prodigy), Eyes Shut, is coming down the pipeline in early 2012. The Chicago-native turned Stanford student, turned full time Brooklynite, puts all her life experience, sarcasm, gripes, and humor into every meticulously crafted verse.

Listen to the track, tell us what you think.

Next Album Due Later 2012

Liam Howlett AONO

Liam Howlett AONO

Hello Fanboys, in the lates blog post by the boys. They announced a new tour date for 2012 and which will be the only UK date that year, Download Festival.

The boys did confirm that new songs will be played at the festival! This is going to be a big one, the only UK gig for 2012? Damn all of Prodigy fans will be there!

However, also in the blog post. Came even better news. New album is due later 2012! I was not expecting that! I would have guessed early 2013.

Anyhow, here is the blog post in it’s entirety:
we have chosen to headline download festival as our only uk festival show next year and will be playin some new songs for the first time from our next album due later 2012 …….. see you there Liam, Keef & Maxim

The Prodigy will headline the main stage on Friday 8th June. Tickets available from www.downloadfestival.co.uk

Thanks to everyone who sent this in! Too many too mention.

UPDATE: James Malley from our Facebook Page noticed first that the boys do say Festival. That doesn’t mean they won’t be doing any actual gigs on their own in the UK. However don’t take our word for it. If you can get Download Festival tickets, get them. Then wait and see if anything else gets announced in the near future.
