Talk about a moody place, hassle from the minute we got there. A great idea, let’s go Paris and check the scene, it can’t be as moody as Grove…….big mistake Gare du Nord Stalingrad and St Denis not a good place without contacts for us chirpy white boys. We turned up in belt buckles and Troop and very soon Fame & Proud2 were buying Dunlop Green Flash from a bargain shop so as to avoid Taxing from Stalingrads finest. Dj Fame was partner to Dj 4Tune in Cut2Kill and was at an amazing standard compared to a lot of other dj’s at this time. His ‘Star Wars into Spoonie G’ mix from 88 was legendary as was his ‘Hijack’ mix in the same year. He entered DMC the next year, and we had him down to walk it! I heard he became quite noisy in later years.
As 2 dj’s….4Tune & Fame were not to be trifled with on the decks….to this day, their ‘Hard Rhymer’ track is still one of the tuffest tracks ever…not the remixed version though. Note, check the brand new NAF NAF coats, we brought quite a bit back with us. As well as Krylon!
