NME launched a new section to their website NME Videos. To celebrate, they counted down the Top 100 Greatest Music Videos.

I can tell you that The Prodigy got 2 spots. Firestarter made #38 and Smack My Bitch Up made #10.

I of course disagree with Smack My Bitch Up being at #10. It should be #1. I remember seeing it for the first time when it came out and it completely blew me away. I fell in love with this video. It’s still mega now! Anyhow, Out of Space should have been in there somewhere haha.

Firestarter: Some parents thought this video, filmed at the abandonned London Underground tunnel of Aldwych, would be too scary for their kids to see, so it was banned from a few channels. Best bit: Keef’s mental dancing, of course.

Smack My Bitch Up: High octane depictions of sex, drug, and violence-fuelled night outs don’t come much more hyper-real than this, a classic mid-nineties shocker shot in brilliant first person perspective. Best bit: When you realise, shock horror, that it’s actually a girl doing all the damage.
