Ello! :D –

As you all may know it seems The Prodigy,in particular Liam Howlett is writing the new Prodigy material. This is tying in with a few summer festivals, which I would imagine would be to dabble their feet in the energy again to take back to the studio to write. When one of the boys leaves a blog or tweet about one of these shows i find my eyes skipping to the end of the paragraph to see what new hints there are for the new material. The band still seems to be doing the same set as last year,no hint or progression of newer stuff.

I got butterflies already thinking of the new material as i have absolutlety no idea what to expect .. the same feeling i got in Summer 2001, Winter 2003, Winter 2007 when new upcoming material,re forms were gonna happen. I also got it Winter 1996 after ‘Firestarter’ and ‘Breathe’ awaiting the long awaited Fat of the Land.

Liam has hinted at a dirty production, picking out back a year or so ago – the new White Stripes album…i like the sound of that ‘dirty production’ – i count Spitfire 05 Single mix of a great example of this (of what we’ve heard so far) – stuff like ‘Youll be under my wheels’ is too digitised and ‘Wake the fuck up’ and to lesser extent ‘ Warning’ lost their ooomph and grizzle we heard them performed live before hand.

Do you reckon there will be a Dubstep influence in this record? .. the re-works for live ‘Thunder’ ‘Charly’ and ‘Breathe’ from 2008 onwards have proved that Liam likes this, and wants to compete or utilise this representing the band. Dubstep is considered an ongoing underground scene liam appreciates. i Hope not!when youv heard so many, thats it done, bit like Pendulum, thats it for me anyway. do love the dirty bass though.

Being a long time fan like some of you – i personally don’t know what i want from a new prodigy record, how would i actually want it to sound? – I know ‘Invaders Must Die’ + ‘Girls’ dissapointed me upon first listen,do i want the first track to blow me away? or to be a teaser and wait for the real good ones?

When i first heard ‘Worlds on Fire’ ‘Warriors Dance’ live i didnt like it,i cant imagine that now..i heard the sample vocal in WD and thought ‘what the fuks this’ – i want rasp,i want aggression ..not that,so you kinda go through weird stages, some tracks are growers. When i first heard Thunder it hit me hard – i thought this is the PRODIGY SOUND – i do believe this.. Thunder and its predcessors Spitfire and SMBU all share that throw off beat that i say is their sound,i hope there is one of them in the next record.

Experience 92 – rave album,diverse,hard,fast

MFTG 94 – darker,journey,esscaped rave scene,even harder breaks,slower tracks,rock influence

FOTL 97 – Dirty, Punky, Urban, More vocal based

AONO 2004 – Sexy,Digitial,Fuzzy bass,Collabaoration record

IMD 2009 – Reminder of who they are; rave look back,High pitched synths, back sample based,1 punky collaboration

NEW RECORD 2012??? – ………………………………………………

Reason for writing this is because i wonderd what i wanted, i want to know what u want? if you were to take one track and use that as a stepping stone to the next record what would it be? or a mix?

I personally would shot of high synths+vocal samples — more guitars, basslines but still retain the hard beats and fukd up melodies-maybe a slightly darker record.have a spice of break and Enter and dabble it with First warning or the unreleased Heatwave Hurricane … but more importantly i wana hear something iv never heard before!! .. cant wait!!

I hope they play some tester shows within the next year.England will be the place they do-you know that!!

We may be tributing long enough to be playing out their tunes after release of this new material providing their not too long.

I predict a Summer 2012 album release and a taster of material before that.
