"When you first break into the music scene, everyone is so naive. I was only nineteen when it started happening with 'Charly' and I was so into the rave scene - apart from some hip hop, I was blind to everything else." - Liam Howlett

Fanboy Opinion: Is this "Fanboy Edit" of Invaders Must Die the best Prodigy album?

Before I begin, Liam if you're reading this. I will do anything to make this happen! There are some edits in my "Fanboy Edit" that don't have a studio release. I think I'm not alone & many fans would love to see this.

Been thinking a lot lately about what is my favourite Prodigy record. For so many years, it was hands down Jilted Generation. The record that takes you on a journey from start to finish.

Then in 2009, the boys dropped Invaders Must Die. The band back together record, the party record. The record that captured most of what The Prodigy is all about. You could say, it captures all elements of The Prodigy.

Since then, my favourite record has pretty much been Invaders Must Die & Jilted Generation as both #1.

For me, Jilted is hard to let go because it's something I grew up on you know & I think it's that feeling that holds me back. Otherwise Invaders Must Die would definitely hit at #1.

However, what if this could happen. An updated release of the Invaders Must Die record. As you know, tracks evolve as the boys play live. The tracks grow.. & become something even bigger.

So if there was ever to be an updated version (which will never happen), this would be (in my opinion) the best Prodigy record ever.

1 - Invaders Must Die (Album Edit)
2 - Omen (Single Extended Edit)
3 - Unstoppable (Birmingham '08 Edit)
4 - Thunder (Thunder Dub Greece Edit)
5 - Take Me To The Hospital (Milton Keynes Edit)
6 - Warriors Dance (Milton Keynes Edit)
7 - Run With The Wolves (With Extra Keith Live Lyrics, example: Milton Keynes)
8 - Omen Reprise (As an Intro to the next track #9)
9 - Invaders (Liam H Re-Amped Edit)
10 - Worlds On Fire (Summer Sonic '08 Edit)
11 - Comanche / The Big Gun Down
12 - Stand Up (Album Edit)

I know having two edits of Invaders might be much for some. But for me, both hold to their own... both are great. Taken out Colours & Piranha, both never clicked with me... the biggest let down is that Unstoppable was not on the record & in my opinion, it's a lot better than Mescaline. Comanche is a killer track, again,,, wish it was on there. Killer track like that to finish off & fade out the album with Stand Up.

What are your thoughts? Is this edit of Invaders Must Die better than original? What would you change?

Should The Prodigy release another Album? What Direction?

You know, I been thinking about this lately...

Should the boys release another album? Somewhat confused of the messages they've come out with as of late. I'm pretty sure they've said times have changed, EPs from now on... then in another video somewhere or message... we could do another album....

I know they can do it. I want it. I was thinking, as each album has an overall theme... maybe they should go in a Hip Hop theme.... Liam on the beats would kill it in Hip Hop man. Maxim on the mic, damn!

Whatever it is or if it does ever happen. I just think it really needs to be different & more fresh than The Day Is My Enemy... I mean, that record is great! But didn't hit me hard you know. I feel like it more of the dark side of IMD... if that makes sense... look at like this FAT to AONO, AONO to IMD, JILTED to FAT. Each record is very unique... I dunno...

What are your thoughts?

Sports / WWE
« on: 4 months ago »
Ok, need a generic WWE topic. I saw @Alan Jennings avatar. Wrestling for sure mate.

So the Royal Rumble is coming up. Potential to be one of the best ever. Great lineup so far.

For me, I need to see Somoa Joe be in the Rumble. The guy needs the push & I'm hearing rumours that the push is coming.

As for surprises in the Rumble. Hope my all time favourite, Scott Hall makes an appearance.

Well, I guess it's safe to post on the forum. Holding back on Fanboy front end... I'm sure the boys want to send a message out soon.

Trainspotting 2 Soundtrack is now available for pre-order via Amazon UK. I'm sure other services will follow. I'll wait for CD and iTunes releases.

Not long to go!

General Talk / So, I'm having a baby.
« on: 5 months ago »
My friends, not sure if I have said this to you guys yet. However wife & I are expecting our first child!

Just over halfway the pregnancy now. Life is good!

Never ever thought good things would come to me, had a crazy life but this is just so good. Very good times for us.

Been thinking how this is going to be the next chapter in our lives & how many things will change. Sleep & free time haha.

So basically, the two hobbies/loves of mine are gaming & Fanboy. So I've made the decision to ditch gaming & try, hopefully have time to work on Fanboy. I am thinking of taking my laptop to work & put up news posts or be active on the forum during my breaks. Going to be hard but I'll work it out. Fanboy is here to stay.

But yeah, having a baby! Doesn't quite feel real you know. I feel like I must be an adult, I am 30.... but damn I'm still a kid at heart man.

The Prodigy - Smack My Bitch Up (Ekaterinburg Live 2016)

Here is a type live video we haven't seen in quite some time. The Prodigy recently toured Russia & one of those dates was at Ekaterinburg, KRK Uralets on the 4th of November.

This live video from the RU Crew is entirely made up from all the live video captured by fans on the night! A lot of work went into this, the Smack Jump is incredible!

Feeling Films have released a behind the scenes video for their work on The Prodigy's track Nasty.

I remember seeing this concept art going around online & hearing that Rebel Radio was supposed to be the original track. It's so good watching this video of Nasty, behind the scenes by Better Feeling Films. It gives you so much information about the entire process & answers so many questions.

The video is below & you can also checkout their website here: http://www.betterfeelingfilms.com

Well, I think it's finally about time we had a Pokemon Go thread?  :D

Who's playing here?

I've been active on it, however only if I am out n' about. I won't go out for the sake of playing the game. However I'm absolutely loving it.

I'm on Level 19 at the moment,  highest CP is 1080 on Executor.

I haven't done any battles yet. I want to reach Level 20 & find some good Pokemon to Evolve. Then do some battles.

The Prodigy / Always Outnumbered Never Outgunned
« on: 9 months ago »

The record most likely not to be recognised by the band today for it's 12th birthday... Always Outnumbered Never Outgunned. Released in Japan today & later 23rd in the UK...

You know, this record always gets so much heat man & I understand that. It's not a bad record, it's just not a Prodigy record. In my opinion, it's not even a Liam Howlett record... but anyhow...

It's not a record you want to drop live... but something for you car. Always labeled over the years by fans as the car album. It's very, very clean & raw. Very, very heavy!

I always felt like record could have been so much better with Keith & Maxim. A lot of ideas were going around this era, BGAT era! & all the tracks live that came with that. I always felt like it was very raw & very punk. Unfortunately whatever was happening in the band resulted in the AONO release, in my opinion. Leeroy leaving, release of BGAT, scrapping tracks, Version 1 of AONO. Then finally the release after 7 long awaited years, final version of AONO.

Liam, if you are ready this mate. Please, is there something we can arrange to have version 1 of AONO? Rumour has it that it was passed onto the labels ??? I have no idea.. however us real fans, would love to have it in our hands & really appreciate the work. Some of the tracks, Memphis Bells from AONO demo tape, Under my Wheels original edit is amazing! Also guns! The one Noel played on Radio 1, incredible!

If there's ever a 7th album, I would love a pure punk like Nuclear. Just imagine that! Just watch the clip below of it, fucking incredible!

Anyhow, tracks like Spitfire & Girls are amazing live. Wake Up Call is brilliant, the live edit with extra beats. Warning... Hotride with Keith...

I could write all day in regards to this record, this era... however I will leave you with some cool gems below, enjoy:

A man has been slapped with a hefty 1,000 fine for playing Sweet Home Alabama and Smack My Bitch Up on his stereo so loud it made his neighbour's floor vibrate.
Sean Harman, 37,  did not even bother to turn up for a court hearing after he breached a noise abatement notice at his York home on May 21 of this year.
York Magistrates Court heard the City of York Council Community Safety team raided Harman's address just three days after neighbours complained about his loud music disturbing them.

Haha, this is just pure awesome! Good to hear people are still playing Smack loud as fuck, the way it's supposed to be played! Too bad his neighbours weren't fans. But damn, his floors vibrated? Are you living in a shitty house or was it just that massive?
